We, The Pizza

We, The Pizza is a local restaurant that’s also one of the most active and positive community outreach organizations in town. Stop by for a wide variety of artisanal pies, cast iron pies, wings, and lunch specials. While you’re there, you can learn about special organizations that We, The Pizza sponsors. Among such organizations there’s DC Central Kitchen, which recovers unused food and delivers meals to those in need. There’s also Horton’s Kids, which is a nonprofit that provides services to children in need from DC’s Ward 8.

Dog Tag Cafe

Dog Tag Cafe is an excellent bakery in Georgetown, where you can find a delightful variety of handmade baked goods, coffees, teas, breakfasts, and lunches. It’s also a proud employer of veterans, military spouses, and caregivers. The Dog Tag Fellowship program offers hands-on experience and business education to help veterans and military families find work, and cultivate careers. The cookies are amazing, and so is the staff.

Groovy DC Cards & Gifts

Groovy DC Cards & Gifts is a small and independent shop offering a large variety of unique greeting cards, stationary, balloons and party supplies. Sidestep the cookie-cutter Hallmark cards, and come here to find something artful and witty to pair with your presents this holiday season. We love this local gem, and highly advise you consider bringing some of your Cyber Monday savings here.

Eastern Market Vendors

Eastern Market is a popular public market located in a 19th century warehouse here in Capitol Hill. The variety of restaurant vendors, and artists selling goods here will get any holiday shopper excited. On weekends, there’s an outdoor market here featuring locally-made jewelry, woodwork, paintings, sculptures and more. Everyday, the indoor market features a ton of take-aways like fresh pastas, sauces, flowers, and more.

"We stayed at the Capitol Hill Hotel for 3 nights and LOVED our stay there! Staff was very accommodating, pleasant, and considerate!
